Christmas has arrived.

After a whirlwind of activities leading up to this weekend, and Christmas Eve and Day on Tuesday and Wednesdayâ€the frenetic pace is slowing a bit.

But there's still plenty on the docket, including a couple last chances to visitâ€and even munch a waffle or twoâ€with Santa.

SANTA

Santa is concluding his visit to the Langlade County Historical Society Museum on Saturday. He'll be greeting good little boys and girls and their families from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County will host its 10th annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, 8 to 11 a.m. at the Elks Lodge. All youths ages 11 and under will receive a Christmas present, get to visit Santa and enjoy a free breakfast made by Elks Lodge members. Nick Salm will be serving his famous waffles. Please RSVP by calling 715 627-1389 or e-mailing office@bgclang.org.

Colleen's Craft Shed is having a holiday food drive. Bring in one item for the Antigo Food Pantry and receive 10 percent off your purchase. Bring in two or more items and get 10 percent off plus a free tote bag. The store is located at 517 Clermont St.

This Christmas, remember someone special with a Love Light. Blue, white and red group lights are on sale now in the Aspirus Langlade Hospital lobby, with funds earmarked for LeRoyer Hospice and other hospital auxiliary projects.

Antigo Visual Artists are hosting a holiday art and craft sale through Dec. 28 at the AVA Gallery, located inside the Langlade County Historical Society museum. There are a range of truly unique, handcrafted items including sculptures, paintings, quilts, wood carvings, photography, pottery, jewelry and much more, with most items priced at under $100 and most under $50.

Youngsters are invited to an open swim on Saturday, Dec. 28 at the Clara R. McKenna Aquatic Center, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's free admission with donation of a non-perishable food item. The event is sponsored by the Antigo Optimist Club.

Enjoy a Merry Christmas with Two Angels. The restaurant will be open Christmas Day, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Special includes baked chicken, roast turkey, baked ham or pork prime rib, all with all the trimmings.

HISTORY, THE ARTS

The Langlade County Historical Society Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complex includes the Carnegie library building, Deleglise Cabin and 440 locomotive and caboose. It is located at 404 Superior St. The society is in the midst of a major fundraising campaign to install an elevator and make other necessary and aesthetic improvements. Stop by the museum to pick up a brochure.

The White Lake Area Historical Society operates the Depot Museum and Historical Center in White Lake. Hours are Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MOVIES

Now showing at the Palace Twin Theater are “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” and “Jumanji: The Next Level,” both rated PG-13.

Get ready for the Roaring '20s New Year's Eve celebration Dec. 31 at Swartzendruber's Supper Club. It includes a four course dinner starting at 7:30 p.m. featuring choice of shrimp trio or prime and lobster along with soup, salad, potato and dessert, entertainment by Sandy and Son starting at 9 p.m. and a Roaring '20s costume contest. There will be party favors and door prizes along with champagne at midnight. Tickets are $50 per person or $100 per couple and are going fast.
