It was a very successful night of racing for the Antigo Red Robin girls swim team Thursday night at the Clara R. McKenna Aquatic Center, as they took down the Mosinee Indians with a final score of 89-49.

The Antigo ladies won every varsity event except the 100-meter breaststroke, racking up their first dual meet win of the season, while honoring the parents of the swimmers.

“It was parents night,” said Coach Mary Ponasik, “and I think everyone enjoyed seeing Antigo get a win. It was a total team effort and I am very proud of the girls for swimming as well as they did.”

Evelyn Olsen and Heather Arlen both had two wins on the night.  Olsen took her top spots in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:35.34, and the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 5:35.69.  Arlen won the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:55.64, and the 100-meter butterfly 1:18.39.

Sydney Meidl placed second behind Arlen in the 200 IM with a time of 3:03.24, while Madison Gabriel followed Arlen to the finish in the 100 butterfly, finishing with a time of 1:28.14, in second place.
