Antigo JV baseball team downs Medford, 9-2

The Antigo Red Robins junior varsity baseball team continued their winning ways on Tuesday, downing the Medford Raiders at home by a final score of 9-2.

Eric Langseth led a 13 hit attack for the Robins’ offense with a three for four performance, including a double and a run driven in.

Brady Renfro also doubled and was credited with an RBI. Zach Jaje went two for four with two RBIs, while Logan Doering was two for two. Sebastian Noskowiak, Korbin Krueger, Matt Stank, Noah Samolinski and Wesley Meyer also singled in the win. Noskowiak, Krueger and Meyer were credited with runs driven in.

Brennen Spencer, Krueger and Jared McFarlane combined on the mound for Antigo to hold the Raiders to two runs on seven base hits.

Spencer started and went 2 1/3 innings and gave up just a lone run, although he struggled with the free pass, giving up five base on balls. He was relieved by McFarlane who closed out the frame. Krueger came on in the fourth and gave up a run on four hits, did not walk a batter and struck out four in four innings of work.

The JV team will next play at Rhinelander Thursday.
