space
One person is dead and nine others are injured as the result of a crash this morning on Highway 52 southwest of Antigo in Marathon County.

Authorities tell news sources that all of the victims are under the age of 18.

The crash involved a larger sports utility-type vehicle which rolled over at the intersection of Highway 52 and County Road Y near Hogarty at around 10 a.m.

The single-vehicle accident triggered the response of multiple emergency units, including several medical helicopters, which assisted ambulance crews in the transport of patients to area hospitals.

Officials said some of the injured were taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, two were airlifted to St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield and two crash victims, ages 12 and 14, were taken to Ministry St. Clare Hospital in Weston.

One of the teens, age 18, was said to be in critical condition. The conditions of the other individuals were not known.

Andy Napgezak, a spokesman for Aspirus Wausau Hospital, advised that individuals who believe that a family member may have been hurt in the crash can call (715) 847-2950 for additional information.

The portion of the highway between Mill Road and Rock Road in the town of Easton remained closed in the vicinity of the crash at press time.

There is no information on the identity or the addresses of the victims.
