The trophies are unpacked and the rosettes are stacked awaiting the start of judging at the Langlade County Fair on Wednesday.

Most of A&P Amusementís carnival rides rolled onto the midway over the weekend, with crews beginning the job of getting ready to throw the switches on the rides Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The weekend also saw work underway in the various local food booths and stands, offering everything from broasted potatoes and cheese curds to full family-style dinner.

And the staff at the University of Wisconsin-Extension office have been working for weeks processing the thousands of 4-H and open class entries, preparing the awards and arranging the details for the judging that gets underway Wednesday with the horse show at 8 a.m. and exhibit judging starting at noon.

The grandstand entertainment lineup includes the BMX/FMX Stunt Bikes on Wednesday; IRA Outlaw Sprints Friday; demolition derby Saturday; and tractor pull Sunday. T-Texas Terry will be entertaining in the multi-purpose building and on the midway Thursday through Saturday.

One of the fairís most popular attractions is the nightly music under the midway tent. That lineup includes Spicy Tie on Wednesday, Vic Ferrari on Thursday, No Schtick on Friday; and Southern Gypsy on Saturday.

The weather looks good for this yearís exposition. The forecast is mainly dry, and calls for mostly sunny with a high near 72 on Wednesday, and sunny with highs near 75 Thursday. Friday will continue to be pleasant, with highs near 75. Showers may return for the weekend with highs in the low 70s.
