space
Antigo Legion Post No. 3 and White Lake Post No. 524 squared off for the second time this season at Kretz Park on Wednesday night, with Antigo winning a close contest 4-3.

The Typhoon was able to take an early 2-0 lead in the second inning with Randy Krebs scoring on an Erik Schielke infield single. Jesse Homp later drove in Schielke on a base hit

White Lake responded in the top half of the third with Jake Wagner, Noah Kubacki, and Joe Kubacki reaching on three consecutive, one-out singles, after a pop up to the catcher. White Lake was able to score three times on two Antigo errors, and after the dust settled White Lake took the lead 3-2.

Antigo was able to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth when Schielke reached on a throwing error and advanced to third, while a subsequent throwing error on the play allowed Schielke to touch home plate and tie the game at three runs apiece.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Krebs delivered the walk-off hit to score Blake Below and give Antigo the 4-3 victory.

Schielke got the start on the mound for Antigo, pitching 5 2/3 innings in which he allowed three runs (none earned) off of three hits, with one batter walked, another hit by pitch, and eight taken down on strikeouts. Krebs earned the win in his relief-work 1 1/3 innings pitched. He did not allow a base runner and struck out three.

For White Lake, Kyle Wagoner pitched into the seventh inning, allowed four runs (three earned) off eight hits while walking three and striking out three.

Offensively, Krebs led Antigo with two hits including a triple. Schielke finished with two hits that included a double, while Rob Bastle added a pair of hits. Luke Osborne, Blake Below, and Jesse Homp finished with base hits for Antigo.

Jake Wagner, Noah Kubacki, and Joe Kubacki each recorded a base hit for White Lake.

Antigo is now 9-7 overall and 6-2 in the Fox River Valley North this season. Antigo will take on Rhinelander on the eve of Independence Day before hosting Oconto (the Division 3 State runner-up during the high school season) for a doubleheader starting at 5:30 on Monday.
