Orioles take Antigo Little League Majors championship

Neves Athletics may have struck first in its bid for a major league title, bit it was the one-two punch by Absolute Relators Orioles in the third and fourth inning that garnered the Little League hardware with the 15-3 victory Wednesday.

Trailing by two in the third inning, the Orioles exploded with five runs to take a lead that it would not relenquish. Adding to the dismantling of the Athletics, Absolute Realtors piled on nine additional runs in the fourth before topping off its scoring with a lone tally in the fifth.

Neves mustered one more in the sixth but was unable to overcome the massive deficit to work in any more innings.

Nevin Cornelius topped Orioles hitting with a home run. Keagan Markusen produced three singles to finish 3-4 while Lennon Ebel went 2-3 with a double. Also marking a double was Elliott Orgeman.

Brett Witman was 1-3, while Kaden Steckbauer and Kalib Merchant each hit 1-4.

Two of the Athletics three runs came off the swift footing of Chris Breitenfeldt who also had a double in the contest. Marking singles for Neves was Dakota Matuszewski, Neil Bretl, Tyler Schroepfer and Fernando Martinez.

Orgeman started on the mound for the winners but was replaced by Ebel in the second. Giving up the pair of runs, Ebel issued three strike outs but walked a pair.

Finishing out the night were Dane Cornelius, N. Cornelius and Witman.

Taking the loss were Eli Fleischman, Evan Hartman, Sam Kramer, Bretl and Isaak Hall.
