In Antigo’s 12U girls softball Tuesday evening, the Comets defeated the Bandits 8-3.

Riley McCann walked away from the mound the winning pitcher while Alisha Turenen was credited with the loss.

Abby Robrecht was the starting pitcher for the Comets, lasting two innings in which she allowed one run off of one hit with two strikeouts and an equal pair of walks.

The decision-winning McCann, in relief, walked four batters while striking out two allowing no Bandits to score. Emma Brown pitched briefly for the Comets, walking three batters.

Emily Brettingen was first on the mound for the Bandits and lasted three innings. Brettingen gave up a run on two hits allowed but struck out an impressive eight Comet batters while walking three.

Bandits relievers Turunen and Taylor Arrowood combined for a total of seven runs allowed on six hits with just two strikeouts between the two girls.

The Comets’ Erica Heinzen and McCann each tallied two hits, batting for a double and a single apiece. Heather Arlen, Chloe Decker and Robrecht each recorded a hit as well.
