Boys & Girls Club ready for run/walk on Saturday

The Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County will host the third annual BE GREAT 5K Run/Walk Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. in Antigo.

The goal of the event is to help promote healthy lifestyles and take advantage of the Springbrook Trail.

“We want to encourage children and their families to live healthier lifestyles and make more time for each other by participating in this event,” Executive Director Angel Zimmerman said. “Everyone is welcome from young to old, from beginners to novice runners and walkers.  It's all about fun, family  fitness.”

There will be a one-mile fun run and five kilometer run/walk race starting from the Boys & Girls Club located at 411 Superior St. and continuing on through some of Antigo's neighborhoods and onto the Springbrook Trail.  

Following the race, there will be food and refreshments along with awards for the top three male and females in both the one-mile and 5K divisions.

Entry fees are $15 for the fun run and $30 for the 5K, including tee shirts. Registration forms are available at the Boys & Girls Club or online at www.bgclang.org

Packet pick-up and late registration will be held fromFriday from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Boys Race Day packet pick-up and late registration will begin at 8 a.m.
