21 students to graduate Saturday at White Lake

White Lake High School will hold commencement ceremonies for 21 seniors on Saturday, opening the graduation season across the northwoods.

The program will begin at 1 p.m. in the school’s small gymnasium.

Following music by the high school band under the direction of Jerry Johnson, the seniors will be welcomed by Principal Glenda Butterfield-Boldig. There will be an invocation by Rev. Marvin Kindle followed by remarks from senior speaker Travis Kizirian, the class president.Butterfield-Boldig will present valedictorian Julia Boyd and salutatorian Samantha Wickersheim, who will offer remarks.

Scholarship presentations will follow. They include American Legion Auxiliary Post 524 - White Lake; American Legion Post 524; Antigo Junior Women’s Club; Community Association of Retirees (CAR); Elks; Hope Presbyterian Church Scholarship; Maule Family; McCaslin Lions Self-Improvement; McCaslin Lioness; New Hope Community Church; Clyde & Ethel Ramer & Family Memorial; Elwyn Remington Foundation; UW-Stevens Point; White Lake Market Community; White Lake STAR (Students, Teachers, Activities, Resources); and Wisconsin Academic Excellence.

There will be a slide show, presentation of flowers to parents by the seniors, and then it will be time for the diplomas to be awarded.

After closing remarks by Butterfield-Boldig, the new graduates will leave the gymnasium to Kool and the Gang’s “Celebration.”

In addition to Kizirian, class officers are Julia Boyd, vice-president; Alexandria Kegley, secretary; and Angel Budd, treasurer.

Class advisors are Cathy Lundgren and Greg Kizirian.

The class flower is the red rose. Motto is “Like branches of a tree we grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one. Each of our lives will always be a special part of the other’s.”
