Ford dealership expands here

Construction equipment will roll onto the Langlade Ford property on Antigo’s northside during early June for a major renovation of the dealership’s sales, office, marketing areas and the body shop.

Chris Corr, who owns and operates the busy Ford sales and service firm at 2530 Neva Rd., explained that the project is being coordinated by Keller, who have completed the planning and architectural projects and are waiting to swing into action of the construction phase.

Keller, which is spread across a number of locations in the state including Milwaukee, Madison, Fox Cities and Wausau, will place John Elrick and Steve Klessig in charge of the project.

Corr explained that the project will add 12,380 square feet of area to the dealership. While the building has been updated since it was constructed, new plans call for it to conform with the Ford Trustmark program.

The current indoor sales area is restricted to showing only two or three Ford products but under the new plan, six vehicles will be displayed in a comfortable setting with easy access to the sales, financial and executive offices.

“This will be a tremendous boost to our dealership,” Corr added.

While the sales and showroom changes will be easy to spot, there will be work at other locations.

The service area, which has been maintained and in tip-top condition, will not get much attention, but the Langlade body shop will be the site of a major change.

Corr explained the Ford has introduced an aluminum-bodied truck and the welding and other projects involving the new products must be segregated from the current body shop activities. A new building to handle those activities will be constructed away from the easy view of vehicle-shoppers, but it is an important part of the services being offered by Langlade.

Corr assured the changes will be substantial, pleasing to customers and improve the setting for viewing and learning about the growing line of Ford products.

Keller said the project will be completed by November.
