Youth pin-spillers hit it big on local lanes, three finish with 700s
space
Antigo’s long-history of strong bowling talent is certainly evidenced in its younger ranks.

In action last week, three members of the Antigo Youth Bowling League — all age 14 and under — hurdled 700 in their quest to produce the evening’s top series.

At only 11-years-old, Will Kubeny collected the top mark at 729 — his first 700 triple of his young career. His brother, 14-year-old Michael Zabrowsky, shot a 705 while Jared McFarlane, age 13, split the pair with a 707.

Kubeny and Zabrowsky are sons of Tom and Mary Kubeny of Antigo. McFarlane is a son of Bill and Linda McFarlane of Polar.

Kubeny stole the spotlight when he strung together three high games in his road to the top. Beginning with a 248, he followed with a 247 and a 234 to chalk the high mark.

McFarlane started off strong at a 247, dropped to a 194 but then hit it huge in game three with a 266 to take single game honors.

Zabrowsky produced his top mark, a 253, in the second game. He sandwiched it with scores of 204 and 248.

On the girls’ side, Rebecca Duchac earned top mention with her solid 592 triple. Games were 204, a nice 223 and a 165.

The Youth Two bracket was paced by Josh Jones at 506 (226, 131, 149) and Quinlan McCarthy at 379 (123, 146, 110).
