Antigo thinks you can dance.

The annual fund-raiser, based on the network Dancing With the Stars competition, will take place Saturday night at North Star lanes.

Hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County, along with the Pinnacle Team of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, the event promises a night to remember featuring amateur competitive dancers, showcase performances, hors d’oeuvres, signature drinks and a cash bar.

Eight competitors, from Antigo and around the state will dance for votes from the judges and the audience. The winner will take home a trophy.

Competing are Crystal Smith; John McKenna and Kelly McKenna Patterson; Tori Andres and Emily Wald; Randy Reif and Marilyn Greiner; Bobbi Deede and Conner Kolz; Shari Welnetz and Jennifer Kressin, featuring Aubrie and Dixie; Kamri Grant; and Duane Karau and Ann Marie Gross.

All proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County.

“Antigo Thinks You Can Dance is one of the most entertaining events of the year,” Boys & Girls Club Director of Development and Marketing Liz Hayes Stickney said. “We are so thankful to our sponsors, dancers and volunteers who have all come together to ensure we have another sensational event—one that will help support enriching programs for our community’s youth.”

Prior to the competition, the audience will be entertained by dancers from the senior and junior competition teams from Expressions Studio in Antigo.  There will also be showcase performances featuring professional ballroom instructor Randy Wilson, of Appleton, and his partners Barbara Pease, Sue Duchan and Charlene Barnett.

Stickney, along with Tara Guelzow, will serve as masters of ceremony. Dick Greening, Moira Scupien and Rita Stowe will be judges.

Cockrails and hors d’oeuvres will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the competition and show at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door and are available at The Boys & Girls Club, The Refuge and North Star.
