Plans made here to mark Super Bowl Sunday
space
The Packers may be staying home, but there’s still plenty of interest in Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The game features four Wisconsin Badger alumni on the field, and one in the coach’s box and Lambeau Field gets a nod in one of the famed commercials that often draw as much attention as the game.

For those looking for a great afternoon out for game-watching, stop by the Edison Club Event Center beginning at 2 p.m.

Get there early for a chance to win VIP sofa seating with free champagne and a $100 bar tab during the game. There will also be a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, free food, free Jell-O shots after touchdowns and $2 domestic beers. The game will be showing on a giant 12-foot screen and there will be four other big-screen televisions set up as well.

Just north of town, Rick’s 45 Roadhouse will have big screens set up throughout the facility for game-watching.

Earlier in the day, stop by Antigo United Methodist Church for the Souper Bowl of Sharing soup luncheon and judging beginning at 11 a.m.

Multiple soups, breads and desserts will be served and a freewill offering accepted to support the Antigo food pantry.

Staying home? Give the cook a break and order out from Buck’s Pizza. Sunday’s party special will include a one-topping Belly Buster, 10 wings, 12 Stix and two liters of soda for just $28.99. Or choose from the full menu of specialty pizzas, stromboli, hoagies, and wings.

The Langlade County Dairy Promotion Committee urges game watchers to add some cheese to the menu. Check out the recipe on page 8 of today’s newspaper for buffalo chicken dip featuring, cream cheese and blue cheese crumbles along with chicken, cayenne pepper sauce and green onions.
