Sarah Doucette leads varsity bowlers|
The Antigo varsity girls bowling team scored a shut-out at Lincoln Lanes in Merrill this past weekend, defeating the Wittenberg J.V. squad 9-0.
Posting a 171 average, the Red Robin crew scored a high game of 193.
Sarah Doucette led the action in tallying a 92.3 percent fill rate thanks to three strikes, five spares and one open.
Rebecca Duchac scored seven strikes, seven spares and left two open while Rachel Rine had three strikes, eight spares and two opens. Zoe Orgeman had six strikes, four spares and two opens.
The girls varsity team bowled the bye in its second match, winning 8-1. The team had a high game of 206 and season high average of 183.
Top bowlers were Theresa Webb, five strikes, nine spares and one open; Duchac, nine strikes, six spares and two opens; Allivia Zoern, seven strikes, six spares and two opens; and Doucette, six strikes, four spares and three opens.
The boys varsity team struggled in its two matches, losing both.
In its first campaign, Antigo lost to the bye 7-2. Collin Schedlbauer was the top bowler with 10 strikes, five spares and three opens.
Nick Arrowood had seven strikes, seven spares and three opens and Logan Liebergen had five strikes, nine spares and four opens.
The boys lost their second match to the Wittenberg varsity 5-4. The team had a 230 high game and averaged 182. Top bowlers were James Gervais, 10 strikes, six spares and two opens; Arrowood, nine strikes, seven spares and two opens; and Liebergen, six strikes, seven spares, five opens.
The Antigo Middle School #1 team lost its match to Wausau East/ West/ Mosinee/DC Everest 6-3. Antigo had a season high game of 204 and averaged 138. Top bowlers were Will Kubeny, Ashlea Kreager, Toby Dieck and Jacob Fischer.
Antigo Middle School #2 team won against the bye 6-3 with a high game of 202 and a 168 average. Top bowlers were Kyle Schedlbauer, Jared McFarlane Josh Jones and Mike Zabrowski.
The Antigo/Bowler Girls Middle School team lost its match against Rhinelander/Elcho 8-1. The team averaged 140. Top bowlers were Molly Fermanich, Kendra Rickert and Lauren Rine.
Antigo will next compete Sunday at Coral Lanes in Rothschild. The high school bowls at 11 a.m. followed by the Middle School at 1 p.m.
