This weekend brings an end to daylight savings time, but not to the wide array of dining, entertainment and other events marching across the northwoods,

A look at other events, taken from the Antigo Daily Journal’s advertising columns, follows:

DINNER THEATER

Antigo Community Theater will present “Mid-Life! The Crisis Musical” dinner theater through Sunday at the Edison Club.

Dinner seating tonight and Saturday will be from 6 to 7 p.m. with the show at 8 p.m. The Sunday show will be an afternoon performance with dinner seating from 4 to 5 p.m. and the show at 6 p.m.

The dinner and show, offering a full buffet, is $25 per person. There are also a limited number of show-only tickets available for $10. Get your reservations now at Neve’s Floors to Go & Furniture.

CANCER BENEFIT

A benefit for Kathy “Kitty” O’Connor, who is battling colon cancer, will be held Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m. at Vickie and the Vets, 1216 Elm St.

There will be food, a 50/50 raffle and bake sale.

All money raised will help the family with medical bills and expenses.

ENTERTAINMENT

North Star Mohican Casino at Bowler will host Shackshakers in the Groove nightclub tonight and in the bingo hall Saturday at 8 p.m.

Hip Pocket will be rockin’ the house at Lac Courte Oreilles Casino, Lodge and Convention Center in Hayward tonight and Saturday, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Rick’s Roadhouse will host a Halloween party on Saturday, with judging at 10 p.m. First place will receive a free quarter-barrel party.

Headquarters II, 1005 Fifth Ave., will have live dance music featuring Dguap, Shannon, Conrad and Leezy Showtyme on Saturday, 10 p.m. to close. There will also be costume judging.

The Refuge is holding its Halloween party tonight, with Brad Emanuel playing starting at 8:30 p.m. There will be prizes for best costumes.

MOVIES

Now showing at the Palace Twin Theater are “Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa,” rated R, and the animated “Free Birds,” rated PG.

Screenings for both movies are Friday and Saturday at 7 and 9 p.m.; Sunday through Thursday at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

SALES

North Central Sales Auctions LLC will hold a personal property auction on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at W11915 Highland Rd., Antigo. The seller is a huge collector, with sporting goods, antiques and more on the block.

A garage sale will be held Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at W7789 Hwy. 64, 5 1/2 miles east of Copps Food Center. Red Robin wear, winter clothing, home and holiday decor, garden crafts and more will be sold.

DINING

Mattoon United Methodist Church plans a fall bazaar and chili luncheon on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mattoon Community Hall. Enjoy chili, baked goods and a craft sale.

Enjoy a rib dinner on Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. Reservations are due today by calling Lisa at 715 574-6208.

A pork, dumpling and sauerkraut dinner, hosted by St. Boniface Catholic Church in Aniwa, will be held Sunday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at The Edison Club. The menu will include pork loin, potato dumplings, mashed potatoes, gravy, sauerkraut, applesauce, bread and homemade pies. Cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under.

OTHER EVENTS

Antigo Visual Artists presents “Faces of ACT,” a selection of photos from Antigo Community Theater taken by Jim Martinsen in the AVA gallery now through Nov. 8. The exhibition may be viewed during regular Langlade County Historical Society Museum hours, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays.

The Woodson Art Museum in Wausau offers “Birds in Art 2013” on view through Nov. 10. Admission is free.

The Langlade County Democratic Party will host a town hall meeting with State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ackley town hall.

A free seminar to learn more about bath salts and other designer drugs will be held Saturday from 11 an, to 1 p.m. in the multi-purpose building at the Langlade County Fairgrounds. Dan Bauknecht, a drug enforcement officer with the Langlade County Sheriff’s Department, will be the presenter.

The Bradley Funeral Home plans a luncheon program on the benefits of advance funeral planning at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, and Thursday, Nov. 14 at Swartzendruber’s Supper Club. Call 715 623-3787 to reserve lunch. Space is limited.

Eastbay will hold a job fair in Antigo on Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Antigo Public Library for on-the-spot interviews. The company is now hiring for warehouse positions on first shift, Monday through Saturday. It will provide free bus transportation from Antigo to the Wausau warehouse for the duration of the seasonal position, ending Feb. 1.

Langlade Hospital, in conjunction with the Blood Center of Northcentral Wisconsin, will host its monthly blood drive on Monday, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the hospital conference room. Call the blood bank toll-free at 1-866-566-5900 to schedule an appointment or for more information.
