Typhoon fizzles with 10-2 loss to Tomahawk
space
The Antigo Typhoon dropped a game to Tomahawk Tuesday, 10-2.

Both teams went quietly in the first, but Tomahawk jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the second inning. They would add three more in the fourth, and a long home run would make the score 10-0 after the top of the sixth.

Fighting to avoid the 10-run rule, the Typhoon bats came alive in the bottom half. Randy Krebs doubled, and Justen Wegter reached on an error on a hard line drive to left. Blake Kirsch singled them home, making the score 10-2.

Another single by Max Nowinsky went unfollowed, and the Typhoon rally was over. Neither team could strike in the seventh, leaving the final at 10-2.

Krebs led the Typhoon with two doubles. Nowinsky added two singles, and Wegter, Kirsch, and Cameron Noskowiak each singled.

Wegter took his first loss of the season for the Typhoon, allowing five earned runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings of work.

Cory Stensberg threw the next two innings, giving up three runs on three hits without walking a batter. Krebs finished for Antigo, and did not allow a run while giving up two hits and striking out one.

Antigo travels to Rhinelander for a 7 p.m. game tonight.
