Season coming to a close for Little League

The brackets have been set for next week’s Little League playoffs which begin on Monday.

Taking the field at Little League Park in the Majors will be The Shoppers Cardinals (6-4) versus the Waukesha Bearings Braves (5-5) in a 4:30 p.m. contest. At 6:30 p.m. the CoVantage Brewers (6-4) will take on Neve’s Orioles (3-7).

The Minors will play at Saratoga Park with the Hydratight Thunder (6-5) will face 40 et 8 Box Cars (4-6) in the early game while Parsons Muck Dogs (10-1) will battle Absolute Realtors Mud Cats (3-7).

Championship games will be played Wednesday at Little League diamond.

In games leading up to the playoffs, the Braves topped the Brewers 3-1 on Wednesday. Garrett Held smacked a home run while Dane Tischendorf and Noah Samolinski each hit doubles for the Braves.

Monday the Muck Dogs defeated the Box Cars 11-6. Neil Bretl had a home run and a double with Logan Wilhelm hitting a pair of doubles in the win.

It was a good night to be a Cardinal fan as they produced a 15 run fifth inning for a 16-5 win over the Braves. Hits were plentiful with Bryson Berneade having a double and single and Issac Wickersheim having a pair of doubles for the Cards. Brady Renfro and Garret Held had extra base hits for the Braves.

For the week of June 10, the Braves tossed the Orioles a 4-1 loss. Renfro notched two triples, Held added one for the Braves. The Orioles also fell to the Cardinals 6-3. Noah Orgeman had the only extra bas hit for the Cards, a triple.
