White Lake singers launch holidays Dec. 7, 2009 Christmas came to White Lake Friday night.
With a crowd on hand enjoying a brisk winter evening, members of the Evergreen 4-H Club sang carols and participated in a tree-lighting ceremony at the White Lake depot.
The festive evening, a community tradition, was hosted by the White Lake Area Historical Society.
Christmas festivities are in full force across the northwoods.
Tonight, the Antigo High School band will kick off school district’s holiday concert season at 7:30 p.m. in the Volm Theater. Admission is $2.50.
The Antigo school district will continue its holiday concert schedule on Sunday, Dec. 13 with the choir performing at 2 p.m. in the Volm Theater.
Elementary programs will begin on Monday, Dec. 14 with West Elementary School performing in the Volm at 1 p.m.
The schedule continues with:
—Mattoon Elementary School, Dec. 15, 1 and 6 p.m. in the gym.
—North Elementary School, Dec. 15, 1 p.m. at the Volm Theater.
—East Elementary School, Dec. 16, 1 p.m. at the Volm Theater.
—Spring Valley Elementary School, Dec. 16, 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the gym.
—Crestwood Elementary School, Dec. 17, 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the gym.
—Pleasant View Elementary School, Dec. 17, 1 p.m. at the Volm Theater.
—and the middle school band, Jan. 18, 7:30 p.m. in the gym.
Concerts are also planned on Thursday, Dec. 10 and 17 at All Saints Catholic School for various ages. There will also be Christmas programs at various other parochial schools and churches as the season approaches.
