Jack Filbrandt bowls stellar 782 series, includes 286 game Nov. 6, 2009 There were few pins left standing at North Star Lanes on Thursday.
The Antigo facility was host to the Dirty Dozen league, a group of bowlers which regularly fires among the area’s best scores.
Jack Filbrandt, Nate Jorgensen and Linda Berg, stepping in for the women, continued the tradition.
Filbrandt chalked the night’s top series at 782, a season personal best and third overall in the 2009-10 men’s honor series race. The mark featured games of 258, a night-high 286 and a 238.
Jorgensen notched a 707 triple by combining games of 279, 204 and 224.
Berg also tallied a high score for the ladies in earning a 635 honor series. Games were 237, 187 and 211.
Falling just short of 700, Greg Pizl paced the men’s 600 series crowd with his 694. The mark featured a 278 which ranked as the evening’s third best score.
Chris Orgeman posted a 686 triple with help of a 258 game while Joe Guithues highlighted his 670 series with a 249 single.
Other frontrunners were Dale Bopp, 663 with a high 246 game; Brian Mattmiller, 664 with 244; Bob Theroux, 660 with 243; Dave Steger Jr., 641 with 269; and Bill McFarlane, 640 with 248.
The 600 list also featured Jeff Klante, 638 with 235; Dave Steger Sr., 635 with 226; Pat Gregurich, 633 with 246; Brady Gregurich, 633 with 250; and Dick Kemmer, 632 with 245.
Rounding out the pack were Steve Suick, 627 with 243; Bill Page, 627 with 234; Aaron Hose, 625 with 259; Jeff Wright, 624 with 235; Bryan Cigel, 617 with 224; Ron Wolf, 606 with 235; Jim Hohensee, 606 with 211; and Steve Burkhart, 602 with 217.
Linda McFarlane posted a solid 568 series. Her best game was a 243.
Steve Hayes bowled a 221 game.
