Antigo school district welcomes 13 new teachers for the 2009-2010 term Aug. 27, 2009 The Antigo school district is welcoming 13 new instructors this week, as the doors prepare to open on the 2009-10 school year.
While the new teachers have been attending meetings in the district since earlier this week, returning staff will report for inservices on Friday and Monday.
There will be an orientation for new high school students and freshmen Monday at noon and then all classes will open on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The new teachers include:
Daryl Brodziski — Health teacher at Antigo High School. Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin–LaCrosse. Previously employed by the Merrill Area School District as a physical education teacher.
Wayne Gagnon — Elementary school counselor. Previously employed as a teacher of students with disabilities by the Antigo school district.
Laura Hartman — Kindergarten teacher at Mattoon Elementary School. Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Student teacher in the Neenah Joint School District.
Aimee Hein — English teacher at Antigo High School. Bachelor of arts from University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. Student teacher in Green Bay Area Public Schools.
Sara Lester — Spanish teacher at Antigo High School. Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Student teacher in the Eau Claire Area School District.
Bill McFarlane — Technology education teacher at Antigo Middle School. Previously employed as a technology education teacher in the Antigo school district.
Anthony Meehl — Elementary music teacher (70 percent). Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Student teacher in the Eau Claire Area School District.
Dallas Moe — Mathematics teacher at Antigo High School. Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Student teacher in the Appleton Area School District.
Jennifer Peterson — Teacher of students with disabilities at North Elementary School. Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. Student teacher in Merrill Area Public Schools.
Kelly Reid — English teacher at Antigo High School. Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. Student teacher in the Oconomowoc Area School District.
Alicia Reimann — School psychologist. Bachelor of arts from University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and master of science from University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Previously employed by Cooperative Educational Service Agency No. 8.
Matthew Schmidt — Teacher of students with disabilities at Spring Valley Elementary School . Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Student teacher in the Wausau School District.
Danielle Ashbeck — Elementary/Specially Designed physical education teacher (50 percent). Bachelor of science from University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. Student teacher in the School District of Rhinelander.
