Week of June 14
Antigo’s Babe Ruth softball 14 U team hosted Tomahawk Tuesday scoring a 21-18 victory.
Antigo scored eight runs in the first inning, then went on to add five runs in the third and fourth innings, before putting three more in the fifth to hold on to the win.
Providing the offense for Antigo were Katie Falk and Kendall Nagle who went a perfect 3-for-3, Nagle collected a double and triple. Others collecting hits were Zoe Kapusta, Natasha Voytovich, Kaitland Rhode and Brittany Beckingham (triple).
Antigo sent out Falk and Kapusta to pitch. The duo gave up 10 hits, 14 free passes and recorded 8 strike outs. Manger Troy Tatro was proud that the girls battled back every time Tomahawk would score, and have continued to show improvements in every game.

Week of June 14
Hosting the Rothschild-Schofield-Weston team Thursday, coach Mike Ramer noted that this was the first time in his tenure the Typhoon had topped its opponent.
In a 12-4 victory, the Typhoon scattered seven hits throughout the six and one-half innings of play.
The biggest contributor in the game was Josh Guenthner (2-4) knocking out a grand slam in the third.
Placing all of its runs within the first three innings, the Typhoon received hits from Jordan Sorano (double), Mike Wolter, Cole Kuenzli and Phil Seis.
Commanding the mound for the Typhoon, the pair of Wolter and Pete Solin gave up six hits, walked nine and struck out nine in the win.
Antigo travels to Minocqua this weekend where they will face RSW at 12:30 p.m. and Minocqua at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Sunday’s action places them opposite Ashland with a 12:30 p.m. start.
Tuesday
Antigo American Legion baseball team traveled to Tomahawk on Tuesday, with the Typhoon being turned back by a 18-10 loss.
Antigo collected 10 total hits being paced by Seis who went 4-for-5. Guenther and Drew Cunningham collected two hits in three chances.
Taking the mound were George Monk, Chase Kuenzli, Cole Kuenzli and Seis who gave up 19 hits, four walks, hit four batters and struck out six.
County Junior League A
Week of June 14
Antigo Red Sox won a 19-11 slugfest over the Polar Bears in Junior County baseball Wednesday.
The Red Sox banged out 22 hits including five home runs. Leading Antigo was Cody Dahms who collected three home runs, Kyle Wolf added five hits (double and home run), and Justen Wegter with four (double and homerun).
Others collecting three hits apiece were Tim Fischer, Scott Vaughn and Brett Lukas.
The Bears were led by Aaron Koss (homerun) and Devin Gress with two singles.
Taking the mound for Antigo were Scott Vaughn and Tim Fischer who combined to allow seven hits, five walks and striking out eight.
Polar countered with Devin Gress and Jordan Luther who allowed 22 hits, issued five walks and struck out five.
Monday
The Polar Bears doubled up against White Lake Monday with a 24-12 victory.
Toeing the mound for the Bears was Jake Zarda and Devin Gress who allowed eight hits, eight walks and five strike outs.
White Lake used Tanner X-ford, Kris Gallagher and Ty Saunders. They allowed 19 hits, issued eight walks and had three strike outs.
Leading hitters for Polar were Jake Zarda with five hits (double), Tyler Boswick, three hits (home run and a double), Devin Gress three hits (double), Andrew Guenthner three hits (triple), Cody Kuenzli two hits (triple) and two singles by Bryce Kuenzli.
Polar currently posts a 5-1 record in the League.
County Junior League B
Week of June 14
Pleasant View ballpark played host to a matchup between Rolling 2 and Pelican Lake Tuesday.
The tough Muskies jumped out to an early 4-0 lead only to watch Rolling battle back bringing the close of the game to a 11-8 Muskie victory.
Erica Briggs and Mason Raith pounded out home runs for the Muskies. Others contributing were B.J. McKinney (double) and Bram Roff.
The strong pitching combination of McKinney, Austin Becker and Robert Houle gave up five hits, struck out 13, hit none and walked 10.
Pelican Lake leaves the win with a 6-2 record.
Individual results were not available for Rolling 2.
