Doug Blashe takes the feature at speedway here in late models June 13, 2009 Marion’s Doug Blashe drove to a win in the late model division in the Langlade County Fairgrounds Friday night as the weather got more cooperative for the new 2009 season
Nick Anvelink was second in the seven-car event and Terry Anvelink was third.
After dreary weather conditions for the early season race dates, temperatures were in the upper 60s for the Friday night party that drew a nice field of cars to the Langlade County track. And there was plenty of excitement as one of the track’s most dramatic crashes took place coming out of the fourth turn — and moved into the front of the grandstand.
In the sports modified division, it was Chad Jaje who took the feature title with Mark Rose and Matt Oreskovich right on his heels.
In one of the evening’s best races, Devin Snellenberger of Pulaski took the feature title in the IMCA stock car division with Larry Karcz in second and Ron Otto in third.
Eric Scribner was the winner in the IMCA modified division with Julie Wedelstadt of Oconto Falls in second and Lance Arneson in third.
In he truck division, it was Sean Thayer grabbing the evening’s title and Forrest Crandall in second. J.P. Remington captured the third place spot.
