Great Northern releases list of All-Conference selections June 10, 2009 Antigo High School finds a plethora of excellent athletes with nine boys and 15 girls in the Great Northern’s All-Conference spring sports selections.
Included were two Red Robin Players of the Year, Joe Fronek in golf, and Steph Frisch, offensive player in soccer.
Six players received the nod in seven positions for baseball this season. First Team honors were given to Jared Tomany, infield and Greg Zupon, designated hitter.
Receiving the Second Team nod were, Tomany, pitching, Phil Seis, infield, and Pete Solin, outfield. Cole Kuenzli and Josh Guenthner, both with honorable mention for pitching and outfield respectively.
Golf, in addition to Fronek’s accolade, he also was named to the First Team, along with Jake Weber. Mike Shinners was bestowed with an honorable mention.
First Team selections for Antigo in softball were, pitching, Heather Kessler, infield, Kalynn Wolter and Suzy Solin, outfield.
Receiving infield recognition were, Kaylee Matucheski, Second Team, and Noelle Ponasik, honorable mention.
First Team honorees in soccer were, Steph Lepak and Frisch.
Cassie Brennecke, Ali Lindner, Nicole Leiterman and Paige Nelson received Second Team acknowledgment. Honorable mention was given to Katy Gallenberg, Lacey Kuivinen, Reba Schmidt and April Kolpack.
