Romance sparks Monday night of bowling here, she says yes Oct. 30, 2007 Brittany Miller may not remember her night at North Star Lanes Monday for the scores she produced while competing in the Northern Lites bowling league; but she will probably remember the proposal.
On bended knee, fellow kegler and boyfriend Aaron Hose proposed marriage on Lane 2 — and Miller responded with a resounding yes — making it by far one of the more engaging nights on the lanes.
As for the actual competition, Janet Heckert led all keglers in the evening’s series race with her 572 triple. Beginning the outing with a 163 in game one, she jumped to a 173 and then a night-high 236 to complete the evening.
Jeanne Tatro and Jennie Volkman tied for runnerup honors at 557. Tatro bowled games of 215, 199 and 143 while Volkman produced a 166, 193 and 198.
Peg Kluwe earned her 532 with a 148, 214 and 170 while Janelle Bolder scored a 521 with a 166, 190 and 165.
Jean Artz earned her 519 series with games of 166, 139 and 214 while Michelle Maynard tallied a 506 with a 134, 233 and 139.
