Hatley Braves take game from Loons in extra innings July 27, 2010 The Mattoon Loons were back on the diamond after being rained out the previous week and battled for 10 innings with the Hatley Braves before suffering a 4-2 defeat.
Mattoon trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Nic Tatro, Phil Seis and Kersey Resch collected singles to tie the game up. The Braves would win the game in the top of the 10th when Mitch Zblewski’s two run single, with two out, won the game for the Braves.
The Loons sent Tatro to mound who in six innings allowed three hits and recorded 12 strikeouts.
Chase Kuenzli and Zach Phyle pitched in relief.
The Mattoon offense was supplied by Braydin Resch who collected three hits in five chances.
Mattoon returns to action Saturday hosting Wittenberg at 4 p.m., and Aniwa on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
