Fleischman and Nelson named to GNC First Team June 25, 2010 Antigos youth fared well on the 2010 Great Northern All-Conference track and field teams.
Pole vaulters Caleb Fleischman, a sophomore, and Maddy Nelson, a freshman, both claimed a league title in the event and as a result, were given First Team accolades.
Fleischman cleared an 11 6 bar to earn the honor while Nelson earned her spot with a 9 jump. Nelson went even higher in non-conference action, specifically 9 6, to set a new school record.
Seven Antigo athletes earned Second Team mention.
Included were Nico Fulsom in the 100 meter dash (11.54 seconds); Erik Artymiuk in the 1600 meter run (4:36.12); Uriah Steber in both the 110 meter hurdles (15.42) and long jump (21 5); and Samantha Stimac in the 3200 meter run (12:37.55). The 4x200 girls relay team of Rachelle Miller, Chelsie Marshall, Nelson and Amber Best also earned second team mention with their time of 1:51.46.
Earning honorable mention were Cody Artymiuk in the 3200 meter (10:26.51); Nick Marciniak in the 300 meter hurdles (42.55) and the 4x400 meter girls relay team of Jamie Hunter, Marshall, Nelson and Michelle Purdun (4:26.9).
