Baseball tourney will kick off here on Friday June 17, 2010 Preparations are underway for the Antigo Baseball Association’s annual summer tournament — an event which will feature 20 youth teams.
Games will kick off on Friday afternoon and continue through Sunday’s championship battles. Diamonds in use include Kretz Brothers Memorial Park, Senior League Park, Lake Park and Little League Park.
Little League Park
Teams in addition to Antigo which are competing in the 10-under bracket are Merrill, Marinette, Hallie and Stoughton.
Antigo will start things off with a 6 p.m. matchup Friday against Merrill. The championship game will be held on Sunday at approximately 2:15 p.m.
Lake Park
Four teams will vie for first place in the 12-under bracket this year, including two from Antigo. Merrill and Jackson round out the remainder of the bracket.
Antigo’s 12U team will host Merrill beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Saturday’s first contest, beginning at 9 a.m., pits Antigo 11U against the Antigo 12U team. The championship game will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
Senior League Park
In 13-under action, four teams are in the lineup. The field includes Wisconsin Rapids, Plover, Oshkosh and Stoughton.
Championship game will start at approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The 14-under team will utilize both the Kretz and Senior League Parks.
Antigo will host Shawano for a 6 p.m. Friday night contest at the Senior park. Action will move to Kretz on Saturday and return to the Senior League field on Sunday.
Kretz Brothers Park:
Greenville, Shawano, Neenah, and Oshkosh will compete in the 15-under bracket. The first game will feature Greenville versus Shawano at 7 p.m. The championship game is slated to begin Sunday at 1 p.m.
