Antigo Stallions 9U team starts season at Ashwaubenon tourney June 17, 2010 Playing together for the first time this season, the Antigo Stallions 9U baseball team traveled to Ashwaubenon June 4 and came home with a 3-2 record placing fourth in the weekend tournament.
vs. Neenah
The Stallions claimed a 6-4 victory over Neenah in the opening round. Antigo started Logan Doering on the mound, with relief help provided by Garret Held and Sebastian Noskowiak. The trio combined to register seven strikeouts. The offense was led by Noskowiak with two singles.
vs. Kaukauna
Kaukauna was the next opponent for the Stallions. Antigo rallied for five runs in the top of the fourth to pull out the 8-7 victory. The Stallions utilized Cody Urban and Doering on the mound as they recorded six strikeouts.
vs. Ashwaubenon
The Stallions came out strong and scored a 13-3 victory over the host team, Ashwaubenon. Antigo collected three hits from Noskowiak to lead the offense. Taking to the mound was Urban, C.J. Levis and Noskowiak who recorded seven strikeouts.
vs. Appleton
Appleton ended the Stallions three game winning streak in handing them a 5-3 loss. Urban and Doering took to the mound to strike out 11 Appleton batters.
The offense was supplied by Brennan Spencer, Noskowiak and Doering each with singles.
vs. Greenville
Playing its fifth game of the weekend, the Stallions came up short with a 6-3 loss to Greenville. Once again Urban and Doering toed the rubber, they combined to record five strikeouts.
Antigo collected singles by Noskowiak, Levis and Eric Langseth.
The Stallions return to action June 19 and 20 when they travel to Stevens Point.
